Guwahati, Feb 20 : Two of the seven Assam ministers, whose names have been mentioned by a national weekly for being allegedly involved in a Rs 1,000-crore scam in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, today decided to initiate legal action against the magazine.
"I am contemplating legal action against the magazine for publishing such fabricated and malicious report," Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told reporters here.
Social Welfare Minister Akon Bora said the charge against him was "baseless" as he had "no knowledge of the entire affair".
Noting that he will take legal action, the minister said "I am surprised to find my name in the report of the magazine".
