Shillong, Feb 14 : A thousand misprinted electoral photo identity cards (EPIC), which were meant to be destroyed, were found thrown in a garbage dump, police said today.
The misprinted EPICs, numbering around one thousand, were given to the district administration for destroying through burning on Friday, election officials said.
However, police said they found the EPICs from a garbage dump at Mawlai on GS Road yesterday and seized them immediately.
Most of the EPICs belong to voters from Nongspung Assembly constituency and were issued during 2006-2007.
